The Jean-Clair Todibo (24) transfer away from OGC Nice remains a complicated affair. West Ham have agreed a deal with Nice for the defender, but Juventus’s interest has thrown a hammer in the works.
According to L’Équipe, Todibo had been willing to join West Ham until Juventus became involved in the transfer. He would prefer a move to the Italian side and could potentially block any attempt to sell him to another club. However, the problem is that Juventus are unwilling to match West Ham’s offer of around €40 million, and Nice will no longer accept a bid less than that.
It is a situation that has created a deadlock as the four parties wait to see what will happen However, as the French outlet further reports, this pause could allow for another club to enter negotiations. Atlético de Madrid have approached Nice but like Juventus are unlikely to match West Ham’s bid, while Aston Villa and Newcastle are said to be monitoring the situation.
