Manchester United full-back Ashley Young has admitted he wants a new contract.
The England international is a regular at Old Trafford but his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Asked whether or not he wants to stay on with the club, Young made it clear that he’s hoping to remain with the Red Devils.
“That’s up to the club,” the 33-year-old told Sky. “I feel as fit as when I was 21 years old. As long as my legs can keep taking me up and down the pitch, I’d love to stay here.
“When you join a club like Manchester United, as soon as you walk through the door, if you don’t know the history, give it a week you will know the history.”
Young is United’s joint-third longest serving player and has won four honours since signing for the club in 2011.
“I know the history, the boys in the squad know the history. It’s all about winning trophies, silverware. That’s what the club is all about.
“I’ve been part of that and we’ve had successful years in the last couple of years.
“I’m 33, nearly 34 now, that’s not changed for me. I still want trophies, still want to win things and that’s what everyone in the squad wants. Everyone wants to win.”
Despite approaching the end of his career, Young is still a regular and has started 11 of United’s Premier League games so far this season.
