Ashley Young is leading a charmed life this afternoon.
The veteran defender started at left-back for Everton in their Premier League relegation scrap with Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park, and has found himself at the centre of plenty of the game’s controversy.
After Idrissa Gueye handed his side the lead with an effort from outside the area, Ashley Young was involved in a tussle with Giovanni Reyna, only for referee Anthony Taylor to wave away the appeals from the visitors.
Moments later, Young was involved again. This time a handball appeal which both referee and VAR decided not worthy of a spot kick. Make up your own mind below.
It didn’t end there either, as moments before the hour mark Young once again tangled with a Forest player in the shape of Callum Hudson-Odoi, only for Taylor to again wave away the Forest shouts for a spot kick.
On another day, he could have conceded three penalties.
