Milan have been linked with several strikers this summer, but instead they decided to renew Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract. As long as he stays fit, the Swede will start every game, removing the need of a striker.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the Rossoneri are one of the teams that are interested in Luka Jovic. The 22-year-old’s adventure at Real Madrid has been far from easy and Zinedine Zidane has now advised him to leave on loan this season.
During a meeting, which took place a few days ago, the manager explained why a loan move will be for the best. However, it might not be that easy for the Serbian to secure a loan, with little time left of the transfer window.
Chelsea expressed their interest a while back but ended up signing Timo Werner, while the likes of Napoli (Victor Oshimen) and Monaco (Kevin Volland) also have made their signings already. That leaves Milan, although they did renew Ibrahimovic’s contract.
Out of the known options, therefore, the Rossoneri are in pole position but the position isn’t a priority for them. Lorenzo Colombo, the Primavera product, did well during pre-season and could be a good backup for the 38-year-old.
