France youth international and AS Nancy midfielder Thanawat Suengchitthawon claims he’s joining Leicester City on a three-year deal.
The 20-year-old, who has yet to feature for Nancy’s first-team, claims the Foxes have pursued him since 2017 and is thrilled to be linking up with the U-23s on a free transfer.
“Yes, everything is sorted now. The only thing that remains is for me to pass the medical examination and to sign my contract. I’m going to work for three years at Leicester. I am really happy,” he told L’est Republicain.
“I had already had contact with Leicester three seasons ago. But, at the time, I had not followed it up, I wanted to continue my training in Nancy. I imagine Leicester continued to follow me.
“And since I found myself free this season, Leicester took the opportunity to offer me this three-year professional contract.
“Some may think that I sign in Leicester for the money but, frankly, that is not it.”
Suengchitthawon featured with the France U-16 and U-17 sides and was the captain of Nancy’s ‘B’ side this season.
