Breel Embolo (27) has missed almost the entire Ligue 1 campaign. Having suffered an ACL injury in August 2023, he only made his return at the end of April. However, the Swiss international then suffered another injury, coming off before half-time against Montpellier HSC on Sunday. Naturally, there was a degree of concern for Embolo, less than a month before Euro 2024.

That concern has now abated. Whilst Embolo was absent from AS Monaco’s first-team training session ahead of Sunday’s season finale against FC Nantes, manager Adi Hütter revealed that the injury is unrelated to the ACL blow suffered before the start of the campaign.

The Swiss international, who has been included in Murat Yakin’s squad for Euro 2024, is suffering from a minor hamstring injury. He will not feature against Les Canaris on Sunday, however, his participation in this summer’s Euros is not in question. “It’s about reducing the risk. He will be out on Sunday in order to reduce the risk but it is nothing serious,” said Hütter, in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News on Friday.
