AS Monaco are interested in Fiorentina goalkeeper David De Gea (34), according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian reporter understands that Les Monégasques have shortlisted the former Manchester United goalie. The Spain international spent a season on the sidelines as a free agent at the end of his spell at Old Trafford in 2023. He signed for Serie A side Fiorentina last year. After a convincing season, Fiorentina are reportedly in talks to retain De Gea and extend his stay until 2028.

Monaco are in the market for a goalkeeper following unconvincing campaigns from both Philipp Köhn and Radosław Majecki. Since the halcyon days of Danijel Subašić, no goalkeeper in Monaco has really nailed down the starting spot between the sticks at Stade Louis-II. Club CEO Thiago Scuro confirmed last week that Les Monégasques were in the market for a goalkeeper to bolster Adi Hütter’s squad. Monaco will feature in the Champions League this season following their 3rd-place finish in Ligue 1.
