AS Monaco and Kappa reissue the 1960 Coupe de France winning jersey | OneFootball

AS Monaco and Kappa are launching on this Tuesday a limited edition of the jersey worn during the historic 1959/1960 season, during which the Club won the Coupe de France, the first trophy in its history.

In this Centenary season, AS Monaco and Kappa are paying tribute to one of the finest pages in the history of the Principality’s club, with the re-issue of a legendary jersey in which the “Rouge & Blanc” lifted the first major trophy in their history.

An historic season

On 15 May 1960, after a spectacular 4-2 final victory over AS Saint-Etienne at the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes, the Monegasques coached by Lucien Leduc – captain Raymond Kaelbel and teammates Henri Alberto, Marcel Nowak, Georges Thomas, François Ludo, Henri Biancheri, André Hess, Michel Hidalgo, Serge Roy, Lucien Cossou and Bert Carlier – won the Coupe de France, the first of five in the club’s trophy collection. A red-and-white striped jersey

A performance achieved in a red-and-white striped jersey, familiar to the oldest Monaco fans. While yesterday’s draw for the Round of 64 of the 108th French Cup designated Union Saint Jean as the next opponent, AS Monaco and Kappa are now reissuing this historic outfit in a limited edition, faithful to the original tunic with its stripes down the sleeves, wide bands and white v-neck.

An emblematic outfit

The Club crest and the Kappa omini, specially applied in gold, are perfectly integrated on the chest, giving the shirt a rare elegance and authenticity, identical to the tunic worn 64 years ago. This outfit is even more emblematic in that, a few months later, it was replaced by the iconic diagonal jersey… As part of this launch, AS Monaco is also inviting all its supporters to share their earliest memories of the Club on social media using the hashtag “#AJamaisGravée”.
