Morris takes over Swindon having held coaching positions at Chelsea and Derby under Frank Lampard, with this being his first role as a manager in his own right.

Having lost their previous manager Scott Lindsey to Crawley Town, Morris has some relatively big shoes to fill considering their positive form so far this season.

With several players out of contract come the end of the season, it’s likely planning will take place later down the line to allow Morris to get to grips with his side.

With that in mind, we’ve decided to take a look at which Swindon players will leave this summer as it stands.

The club was formed in 1879

Real Fake

Charlie Austin

Austin returned to the County Ground in December after an 11 year absence. In his previous spell with the Robins, Austin scored 37 goals in 65 games and will be hoping to get close to that form between now and the end of the season.

Should he stay fit and consistent, Morris could look to retain the experienced forward beyond the end of the season.

Johnny Williams

Williams is a key player at Swindon and has found his best form at the County Ground in his time at the club so far.

He’s scored eight goals so far for the club and at 29, he’s still got age on his side.

The club will almost certainly be working hard to ensure they keep the diminutive attacker at Swindon past the end of the season.

Mathieu Baudry

The experienced Baudry picked up an injury earlier this season that unfortunately ended his season.

The ACL injury he sustained has made him consider retirement although no official decision has been made. The Frenchman’s situation is likely to be discussed at the end of this campaign considering he was a regular in the side up until his injury.

Saidou Khan

Khan has been a regular for Swindon this season but has struggled for consistent form.

His 23 appearances so far this season have included 18 starts, with the technical midfielder struggling to create and score goals this season.

However, his regularity in the team could prompt another deal for the 27-year-old.

Ellis Landolo

The 25-year-old versatile defender has been a squad player for the Robins this season.

His 18 appearances this season has brought a low average scored of 6.5 according to WhoScored, which ranks him one of the lowest in the side.

Whether that’s enough to earn a new contract remains to be seen, but Morris could see the use in Landolo because of his versatility.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy

The former Aston Villa trainee has yet to establish himself in the first team this season, having started just one game so far this season.

He’s also made seven appearances off the bench, which could tempt the club to allow the forward to leave at the end of his contract.

Cian Harries

Another player who has first team football hard to come by this season is Harries. The Welshman has made just three appearances so far this season and is likely to leave at the end of his contract.

With just three appearances under his belt this season, it’s hard to make a case for him to stay at the County Ground.

Loanees

Swindon currently have five loanees at the club, with Luke Jephcott proving to be a key player for the Robins. Despite scoring just five goals this season, he has been a regular in the side and should his form improve, a permanent transfer could be worth exploring.

The other loanees include Sol Brynn, who like Jephcott has been key this season. He’s made 27 appearances this season and is likely to return to parent club Middlesbrough.
