Arturo Vidal has arrived in Brazil as the veteran Inter Milan midfielder inches ever closer to sealing a move to Flamengo.

Footage has appeared on social media of the 35-year-old being greeted at the airport by enthusiastic Rubro-Negro fans.

Argentine side Boca Juniors reportedly formally offered the Chile international a contract last week, but he seems to have spurned their advances.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Vidal will undergo medical tests in Rio de Janeiro this week before putting pen to paper.

Globo Esporte reporter Fred Huber claims that once the medical is completed, Vidal will spend some time in Italy and Chile before the deal is concluded on or after 16 July.

Flamengo are in action on Wednesday against Colombian side Tolima in the second leg of their Copa Libertadores round of 16 tie.

We will have to wait and see if Vidal decides to watch the game at the Maracanã in person.
