Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal must improve in attack after seeing his side held to a fourth consecutive Premier League draw after a goalless stalemate at Burnley.

The north London side moved back into the top half of the division with a point at Turf Moor, though they were once again wasteful in front of goal as Alexandre Lacazette and the returning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang spurned good opportunities during the first-half.

Burnley would improve following Arsenal’s fast start and had chances of their own, efforts from Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil both drawing smart saves from Bernd Leno in the visitor’s goal.

The two sides would continue to exchange chances though it would be the hosts who would come closest to breaking the deadlock, Rodriguez’s shot hitting the underside of the crossbar with goal-line technology confirming the ball had not crossed the line.

The draw means that the Gunners have now drawn a remarkable 13 league games this season, the most at this stage of a campaign in Premier League history, and Arteta admits his side must find a cutting edge if they are to find the results needed to climb the division.

“In periods of the game, yes I liked it, but in other periods I did not. We started to give free-kicks, throw-ins, corners away and in that they are better than us,” Arteta told BBC’s MOTD.

“I learned a lot about the resilience we showed in defence and also that we need to improve the quality of our play, be calmer and improve the end product.

“In the offensive part of our game, we have to do better for longer periods of the game.”

Arsenal remain tenth and ten points adrift of the Champions League places, whilst Burnley have climbed into 11th, moving ahead of Newcastle and Southampton on goal difference.
