Arsène Wenger has admitted he is happy Liverpool’s bid to go the whole season unbeaten in the Premier League failed.

Wenger masterminded Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ season in 2003/04 which is a feat yet to be repeated.

Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool side went 27 games without defeat before losing 3-0 to Watford in February, meaning the Gunners’ achievement remains unique.

“Yes, it was a form of satisfaction. We always like to be the only ones to achieve something,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“They [Liverpool] could really go all the way, but it shows that it’s difficult to repeat this feat.

“That day, I had a lot of messages from Arsenal supporters.”
