Arsenal’s teenage defender Teyah Goldie has joined FA Women’s Championship club Watford on a dual-registration basis until the end of the season according to reports on The Golden Girls’ official website.

The 17-year-old has been in and around the Arsenal first team for the last nine months but with playing minutes in short supply, she has today moved to Watford in a bid to build some experience in the senior game.

Goldie made her Arsenal debut last season when the North Londoners defeated FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Gillingham 10-0 in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round. The youngster has been restricted to just three substitute appearances for The Gunners this term.

The 17-year-old defender becomes Watford interim head coach Gifton Noel Williams’ second signing of the January transfer window following The Golden Girls’ recent addition of Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Morgan Rogers, a player who also moved to the Hertfordshire club on a dual-registration deal.

The young defensive duo will look to help cement Watford’s position in the FA Women’s Championship for another season. The Golden Girls are currently 10 points clear of bottom club Coventry United, however, The Red and Greens are expected to appeal a 10-point deduction which was imposed for their recent off-field issues.
