Earlier this week, Arsenal officially confirmed a new deal with Emirates lasting until 2028, with reports suggesting the partnership would be boosted from £40m to £50m-a-year.
However, Lukasz Baczek reports that the deal is actually larger than that.
The new sponsorship agreement will exceed £60m, with additional incentives of several million pounds if Arsenal win the Premier League or the Champions League on top of that.
Part of the reason for such a significant increase is reportedly that Arsenal made the case that many of their Premier League rivals have separate sponsorship deals for their training ground shirts.
For example, Tottenham Hotspur have an £8m deal for their training ground shirt sponsorship, separate from their match shirt sponsorship.
Arsenal argued that if Emirates want to sponsor both the match shirt and the training ground shirt too, then they have to pay the market rate on both fronts.
As a result, the belief is that Emirates are effectively paying £45-50m for the shirt sponsorship and £10-15m for the training kit deal, bringing us to the £60m+ total.
Arsenal also renewed their official deal with kit manufacturer Adidas last year, so the Gunners should be in a lucrative situation right now with regards to their two main kit contracts.
