Arsenal winger Gio Queiroz has joined Spanish finetwork Liga F club Atlético Madrid on a permanent deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.

Gio joined Arsenal from Spanish giants FC Barcelona in summer 2022. The 21-year-old Brazilian international winger arrived in North London with lots of promise, however, she has struggled to make an impact in the Arsenal squad.

In the 2022/2023 season, Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall opted to send Gio out on loan to Everton to gain some Barclays Women’s Super League experience. The player made 11 appearances for the Merseyside club in the first half of the campaign before returning to parent club Arsenal for the second half of the season. Last season saw Gio start the campaign with Arsenal before returning to former club Madrid CFF on loan where she scored nine goals in 16 finetwork Liga F outings.

Gio has shown all of her potential in the Spanish top flight and she will now return to that league in 2024/2025 with new club Atlético Madrid.

The winger leaves Arsenal after making 11 appearances for the club in all competitions, all of which came from the bench during the 2022/2023 campaign.
