With football postponed for the moment, weāve been thinking about who gets in Arsenalās all-time XI.
Today weāre choosing the right-back.
Here are the nominees ā¦
Bacary Sagna is one of the most underrated players in recent Arsenal history and we are here to change that.
Signed from Auxerre in 2007, Sagna quickly established himself under ArsĆØne Wenger with committed, defensive displays that boasted endless running and surprising aerial prowess.
He struggled going forward at times but his body was on the line every week, in whatever role he was asked to fulfil. Plus he hated Tottenham.
When it comes to Arsenal men, you wonāt find many with more dedication than Pat Rice.
Rice made 528 appearances across 13 seasons for the Gunners, winning a league and FA Cup double in 1971, and then another FA Cup in 1979.
After hanging up his boots in 1984, he returned to the club as youth team coach, caretaker manager and then assistant manager to ArsĆØne Wenger for 16 years.
Right back isnāt usually a very glamorous position but Lee Dixon did a great job of disproving that.
Signed from Stoke City in 1988, Dixon impressed with his technical quality, stamina and crossing ability that so often provided forwards with goalscoring opportunities they couldnāt miss.
He made 619 appearances for Arsenal (currently fourth in their all-time appearance makers), winning four league titles, three FA Cups and a European trophy to boot. Who can argue with that?
