Here are the nominees …

3rd – Jens Lehmann

Eyebrows were raised when Arsenal signed veteran goalkeeper Jens Lehmann from Borussia Dortmund, but what a signing it turned out to be.

Lehmann – nicknamed ‘Mad Jens’ for his eccentric personality – did not lose a single game in his first full Premier League season as Arsenal were immortalised as Invincibles in 2003/04.

He is remembered for a string of stunning reflex saves, while his Champions League semi-final penalty save against Villarreal will live long in the memory.

2nd – Pat Jennings

Pat Jennings was revered by fans for one simple reason: he would stop the ball going past him by any means necessary.

Big Pat was the epitome of bravery, agility and was one of the first goalkeepers to use his body, legs and even head to block the ball.

Despite his links to Tottenham, Jennings made 327 appearances for Arsenal and reached three FA Cup finals. Spurs past; officially forgotten.

And the winner is … David Seaman

This spot was only ever reserved for one person, wasn’t it? David Seaman is the greatest goalkeeper in Arsenal history.

Signed from Queens Park Rangers in 1990, ‘Safe Hands’ made over 400 appearances for the club, winning four FA Cup and three league titles, in addition to a European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1993/94.

Arguably his greatest ever save was against Sheffield United in the FA Cup, somehow stopping a close-range header from Paul Peschisolido with every last inch of his fingertips.

Check back tomorrow when we will be choosing Arsenal’s greatest ever … right-back.
