Arsenal’s teenage midfielder Ellie Head has joined FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Watford on a dual-registration basis.

The Golden Girls announced the transfer this evening via an update on their official club website.

The 18-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for The Gunners, however, she has represented the North Londoners on a regular basis at WSL Academy League level. Head made 25 appearances in WSL Academy League football last season while she contributed 11 goals.

The attacking midfielder will now get some senior football under her belt with FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Watford. The Hertfordshire side are aiming to win promotion back to the elite game this season after suffering relegation from the Barclays Women’s Championship on the final day of the 2021/2022 campaign.

Watford are currently in fourth position in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division table, although they have a game-in-hand over the three sides above them. The Golden Girls have won three of their four league matches so far while they won 6-0 at home to newly-promoted Cheltenham Town last weekend.

Head goes straight into the Watford squad for their FAWNL Cup fixture against Norwich City at Grosvenor Vale in Ruislip tomorrow afternoon.
