Amid the speculation that Arsenal need a striker this summer, one of their young talents just can’t stop scoring.
That comes courtesy of 16-year-old Chido Obi, who is already playing with the Gunners U18s side.
And he might not even be there for long either, with the striker clearly too good for that level too.
In his most recent outing against Norwich City’s U18 side, he managed a 20 minute hat-trick on the way to scoring the first SEVEN of his side’s goals in an 9-0 win over the young canaries.
It saw him overtake Arsenal’s U18 record in a season, which had previously been set by Folarin Balogun who managed 25 back in 2018/19. With the seven added against Norwich, Obi has moved up to 28 with two games left to play, and he has only played 15 games.
Recent reports have revealed that Arsenal are already looking to tie him down to a long term deal and fast-tracking his progress to the first team. With goalscoring strikers at a premium, they may want to do that sooner rather than later.
