After winning their opening group game with an Ethan Nwaneri goal and Myles Lewis-Skelly winning a penalty, both of the Arsenal youngsters were in the England u17 side to face the Netherlands on Sunday.
With Switzerland beating Croatia earlier in the day, England knew that a win of their own would secure a top-two finish in the group and progression to the next round with a game to spare.
Within just seven minutes, Arsenal’s Lewis-Skelly had given them a lead to hold onto.
It was a fantastic goal, with Lewis-Skelly picking the ball up in midfield and racing past three opponents, before the ball fell to him again after a half-hearted challenge and he fired it home.
England were pegged back in the 71st minute by a Jasper Hartog equaliser, but Isaiah Dada-Mascoll scored twice and Justin Oboavwoduo also netted as England dominated the final 15 minutes to win 4-1.
The highlights of the game can be found on the UEFA website, and a full-match replay is available via the BBC.
As a result of that win, England go into their final group game against Switzerland having already qualified for the knockout stages, and only needing a draw to top the group.
Switzerland have also already qualified for the next round, with the Netherlands and Croatia going home early.
It looks as though England will face a tricky quarter-final regardless of their group finish, with Germany and France currently sitting in the top two of Group C.
After playing such a key role in the opening two games, you’d think Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly might be rested for the final group game to prepare for that quarter-final.
England face Switzerland on Wednesday, 24th May at 14:00 BST.
