Arsenal face Crystal Palace for the second time in a week when the Gunners travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday evening.
Mikel Arteta’s team edged out the Eagles 3-2 in an entertaining Carabao Cup tie in midweek to secure their spot in the semi-finals. Attention now turns back to the Premier League title race and bouncing back from consecutive league draws. Arsenal have failed to score a goal from open play in three league games and require work in the final third.
The North Londoners are third in table, six points from leaders Liverpool having played a game more.
Palace pushed them hard on Wednesday night and have improved from a slow start. Oliver Glasner’s side ended Brighton’s unbeaten home record in impressive fashion last weekend.
Arteta has confirmed that Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori are both available in a big boost to the Gunners. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain long-term absentees, while the clash is expected to come too soon for Oleksandr Zinchenko. However, Kieran Tierney made his first Arsenal appearance in 18 months in midweek to ease concerns at full-back.
Gabriel Jesus will expect to lead the line after scoring a hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Palace just days ago. The Brazilian is yet to find the net in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
Crystal Palace host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday 21st December 2024. Kick-off at Selhurst Park is 17:30 GMT.
The game will be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK.
