Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at Arsenal until 2027, according to David Ornstein.

This news comes as a huge boost to Arsenal, who are flying high at the top of the Premier League.

They are hoping to continue their momentum on Friday night when they take on Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Martinelli has been on top form this season and is a huge reason why the Gunners are having such a successful campaign.

In 26 games across all competitions, the 21-year-old has scored seven goals.

He has been a little off the boil since 2022-23 resumed following the World Cup. Saying that, Martinelli has certainly not been rubbish.

Arsenal have been trying to tie Martinelli down to fresh terms for quite a while now.

The winger’s deal was set to expire at the end of next season, though the club held a two-year option to extend his contract.

As well as the Brazil international, the Gunners want to extend Bukayo Saka and William Saliba’s current contracts.

And it appears to be a case of one down, two to go.

The deal is close to being finalised, Ornstein states.

He was signed for a measly £6.4million from Brazilian club Ituano after having a trial with Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The 21-year-old actually struggled with a repetitive ankle injury for a while and was gradually brought back into the side by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Many Gunners supporters were critical of Arteta for Martinelli’s lack of game time, however, it turned out to be a brilliant piece of management by the Spaniard – who has a knack for proving the club’s fans to be wrong.
