Having dominated possession, the hosts finally broke through when Emile Smith Rowe converted Bukayo Saka’s cross from close range.
Nicolas Pépé doubled their lead moments later with a trademark curled finish after cutting inside from the right.
Matheus Pereira gave the Baggies hope with a well placed finish past Bernd Leno, but Willian settled their fate with an excellent late free-kick.

Everton have strengthened their hopes for European football next season thanks to their 1-0 win over West Ham.
The visitors went ahead through Dominic Calvert-Lewin who finished well after being expertly found by Ben Godfrey.
Lukasz Fabianski had to be at his best to deny Gylfi Sigurdsson from long range, before thwarting Richarlison moments later.
West Ham almost equalised when Vladimír Coufal struck the post after a brilliant team move, with Jarrod Bowen unable to convert the rebound.

United were gifted a way back into the game when Douglas Luiz clumsily fouled Paul Pogba in the box, with Bruno Fernandes scoring the resulting penalty.
The turnaround was complete when Mason Greenwood did brilliantly to turn Tyrone Mings before slotting past Emi Martínez.
Edinson Cavani made it three late on with another clinical header, with Ollie Watkins shown red in injury time for simulation.
Scorers: Traoré 76′, Gibbs-White 90′; Dunk 13′.
Brighton let slip of a goal lead to lose 2-1 to Wolves at Molineux meaning their Premier League safety is still yet to be guaranteed.
It all started well for Graham Potter’s side when Lewis Dunk headed in his fifth league goal of the season from Pascal Groß’s corner.
But the Seagulls captain was then sent off for pulling Fabio Silva down when he was through on goal as the game began to unravel for the visitors.
Adama Traoré came off the bench to inspire Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to victory, playing a one-two with Silva before poking home the equaliser.
Another sub, Morgan Gibbs-White then scored the winner with a curled effort into the top corner after the ball had ricocheted into his path in the box.
