Andriy Lunin is facing an important summer ahead. After expertly filling in the shoes of the injured Thibaut Courtois this season, he now has a decision to make on whether or not to continue at Real Madrid.

Lunin has emerged as one of La Liga’s best-performing goalkeepers and Courtois’ fresh injury means he could end up retaining his position as the club’s number one goalkeeper for the remainder of the campaign.

However, Lunin is one of the lowest-paid players at Real Madrid and his contract expires in 2025.

Although Real Madrid are keen on extending his contract, the club could face a stiff battle in their bid to keep hold of the goalkeeper.

Arsenal eye €20 million swoop for Lunin

As a matter of fact, Arsenal are eyeing a summer move for Andriy Lunin and are ready to cough up €20 million for the Ukrainian international.

This is according to SPORT, who suggest that the Premier League giants have identified Lunin as a market opportunity in the coming summer.

Although the Gunners have David Raya as their established number one, they are on the hunt for a reliable alternative, especially with Aaron Ramsdale facing an uncertain future.

Arsenal ready to triple Lunin’s salary

Despite the interest of Arsenal, it must be noted that Lunin has never shown any desire to leave Real Madrid immediately.

The Ukrainian international is happy at the Santiago Bernabeu and may even consider staying if he is guaranteed a more important role in the team.

Arsenal, though, are ready to lure Lunin by tripling his salary. The Gunners are aware of the fact that Lunin is the lowest-paid player at Real Madrid, with a salary of just €2 million per season.

The English outfit, therefore, are hopeful that the opportunity to earn triple his current salary, along with the prospects of a better role could ultimately woo Lunin, as he faces an important summer ahead.
