Alexandre Lacazette is almost certainly leaving Arsenal at the end of this season and the Gunners are now working to ensure he is replaced.

The Frenchman is approaching the end of his current deal at the Emirates and can sign a pre-contract with another club at the start of next year.

Arsenal might even be attentive to January offers for the former Lyon man and has identified a striker that can succeed him at the Emirates.

The Daily Mirror claims that Mikel Arteta wants Dominic Calvert-Lewin to replace the outgoing Frenchman.

The England striker has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League in recent seasons.

Injuries have robbed him of the chance to keep scoring in this campaign, but Arsenal has seen enough and the Gunners will pursue a summer move for him.

His current deal expires in 2025, so Everton will ask Arsenal to pay some good money for his signature.

Calvert-Lewin is one of the finest strikers currently in England, and he is certainly more lethal than Lacazette.

At 24, he is also at an age where Arteta can develop him further and turn him into the goal machine Arsenal needs.

It remains to be seen if Everton would sell arguably one of their most important players and at what price he would move to the Emirates.
