Regardless of where they finish in the Premier League, Arsenal are gearing up for what could be a seismic summer transfer window, with reports suggesting they have their sights set on a major Liverpool target.

The Gunners, fresh from a £200+ million spree of significant signings last year, including Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, are reportedly eyeing Eintracht Frankfurt's Willian Pacho, plus Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong and Newcastle's Alexander Isak, in a bid to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

Manager Mikel Arteta, keen to make a mark in Europe, is reportedly spearheading the pursuit of these high-profile acquisitions, with backing from sporting director Edu Gaspar.

Arsenal and Liverpool both chasing Willian Pacho

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal scouts are closely monitoring Pacho as they eye competition for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes at centre-back.

Interest from North London in the 22-year-old Ecuadorian, who has garnered attention from Liverpool in recent weeks, having reportedly impressed incoming boss Arne Slot, raises the prospect of a bidding war between the Gunners and their Merseyside rivals.

With Joel Matip set to depart when his contract expires at the end of the season, and doubts over the injury record of Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez's long-term future, centre-back is a major priority for Liverpool this summer.

To lose one of their leading targets to a major rival would, therefore, come as a massive blow.

Frankfurt are now willing to listen to offers in the region of £43 million (€50m).

De Jong and Isak on Arsenal's list

With Jurgen Klopp leaving the club after almost nine years on Merseyside, Liverpool will be keen not to lose too much ground to their immediate rivals during the transition period.

However, the same report suggests that Arsenal are lining up another two transfers that would 'stun' Liverpool.

The first is that of Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch international, 26, long coveted by Manchester United, seems to have eluded their grasp, paving the way for Arsenal to make a compelling case for a £69 million (€80m) move to the Emirates Stadium.

With Barcelona open to negotiations, the Gunners are poised to make a significant offer to secure the services of the talented midfielder, potentially reshaping their midfield dynamics.

Likewise, the Gunners could also move for Alexander Isak.

Arsenal have been closely monitoring Isak's progress since his days at Real Sociedad. Now, the Sweden international has emerged as one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League, piquing the Gunners' interest even further.

Newcastle United, Isak's current club, may be forced to let him go to address Profit and Sustainability concerns. An £86-million (€100m) move to Arsenal could satisfy both Newcastle's financial worries and Arsenal's need for a top-quality striker.

However, to finance such an ambitious triple transfer, Arsenal would likely need to offload several players, including Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah.
