Gunners ready to launch fresh bid to win Premier League title
Mikel Arteta will rally his Arsenal troops to launch a third offensive on Manchester City’s Premier League title, starting with the visit of Wolves on Saturday.
The Gunners know a fast start is vital to putting pressure on the defending champions, who they play next month in what is a tough start to the 2024-25 campaign.
Riccardo Calafiori has arrived to bolster the defence of an Arsenal team which is prepared to try and reach the levels of perfection required to end their two-decade wait for a league title.
Wolves impressed many onlookers last term by putting together an unlikely challenge for Europe under Gary O’Neil before fading away rather dramatically in the final two months.
Money is relatively tight at Molineux these days and the pressure is on their existing squad and the small number of additions to fill the voids left by Max Kilman and Pedro Neto.
Arsenal vs Wolves is scheduled for a 3pm BST kick-off on Saturday August 17, 2024.
The match will take place at Emirates Stadium.

Fabio Vieira and Jurrien Timber are doubts for the hosts, who are without Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney due to injuries. Calafiori is likely to start on the bench ahead of his debut while teenagers Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have been prominent features of pre-season.
Arsenal’s starting line-up will be much the same as the one deployed last season, with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz competing to start up front and the choice of Jorginho or Thomas Partey in central midfield.
Wolves are largely injury free. Daniel Podence has a calf issue but is up for sale anyway, along with Goncalo Guedes. Hugo Bueno has joined Feyenoord on loan.
New signing Jorgen Strand Larsen is set to make his debut in the attack.
The Gunners have dominated this fixture in recent years and look in far better nick for the new season.
