Man United (3-4-3): Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Shaw; Diallo, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dalot; Rashford, Zirkzee, Fernandes

Arsenal moved up to second at the weekend following their 5-2 romp at West Ham United. Man United made it two wins from three under Amorim with a 4-0 thumping of Everton.

A match that conjures up fabulous memories of the legendary Arsene Wenger vs Sir Alex Fergsuon rivalry is scheduled to kick off at 8:15pm and will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime.

Arsenal gunning for title glory as Amorim gives Man United a lift

Liverpool might be putting daylight between themselves and the rest in the Premier League title race, but Arsenal, runners-up in each of the last two seasons, won’t be going down without a fight.

A four-match winless streak featuring away defeats at Bournemouth and Newcastle United had stopped Mikel Arteta’s men in their tracks.

But they look like they mean business coming back from the international break, recording a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest before Saturday evening’s magnificent 2-5 triumph at West Ham.

Few, if anyone, are talking about Man United as title contenders though new head coach Amorim has them heading in the right direction.

The Portuguese’s first three matches in charge have yielded a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town and a 4-0 drubbing of Everton in the league either side of a 3-2 win against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Amorim has changed the system and possibly the mindset which certainly needs changing on the road because they have not won any of their last six away games, drawing five of them.

Arsenal vs Man United team news

Arteta has been sweating over the fitness of a few players with defenders Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori limping away from the game at West Ham. So did Bukayo Saka, though the England winger should be fine.

Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino had been unavailable at the London Stadium through injury which may not clear up in time for the visit of Man United.

Arteta, keen to rotate where possible in a hectic schedule, could bring in Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Martinelli for Calafiori and Leandro Trossard. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are definitely out.

Man United boss Amorim will have to assess his players’ welfare having had 24 hours less than Arsenal to prepare for this fixture.

He knows he has two changes to make with both Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo picking up their fifth bookings of the campaign against Everton.

Luke Shaw would be the obvious replacement for Martinez on the left side of the back three because of the pace he has over Harry Maguire. In midfield it looks like a straight shoot-out between Christian Eriksen and Manuel Ugarte.

Leny Yoro, yet to play for Man United since his £52m summer switch from Lille, is training and could be close to gracing the bench.
