Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back from their Vitality Women’s FA Cup final disappointment when they take on FC Barcelona in their latest UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

The Gunners were defeated 3-0 by Chelsea in Sunday’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup showpiece at Wembley and it gets no easier for Jonas Eidevall’s side with European champions Barcelona up next.

Ahead of Arsenal’s latest group match, FAWSL Full-Time have been looking at the UEFA statistics surrounding the fixture. Here are four facts which relate to Arsenal’s group game against Barcelona.

Arsenal have a good home record against Spanish opposition

Arsenal go into their latest European tie having won four out of four against Spanish opponents at home. The Gunners defeated Barcelona 4-0 at Meadow Park back in 2012 while they have twice beaten Rayo Vallecano and once seen off Levante home soil.

Arsenal are yet to concede at home

Eidevall’s Gunners are one of three teams yet to concede at home in the group stage along with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. Arsenal also kept a clean sheet in the home leg of their second round tie against Slavia Prague. The North Londoners have scored 20 and conceded none in their last five European ties on home soil.

Barcelona’s attack is one to be feared

Barcelona have failed to score in just one of their last 28 UEFA Women’s Champions League matches while they have hit four or more goals in eight of their last 13. The Catalan club netted four times as they defeated Arsenal 4-1 in the reverse fixture in early October. Keeping Barcelona quiet will be a huge challenge for The Gunners.

Arsenal on the verge of qualification

Arsenal will qualify for the quarter-finals if they avoid defeat or if TSG 1899 Hoffenheim do not win at bottom side HB Køge. Opponents Barcelona have already secured their passage into the last eight and will win the group with any positive result in North London.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture between Arsenal and Barcelona at The Emirates Stadium kicks-off at 7pm on Thursday evening. Tickets are now on general sale and can be purchased by clicking here. Fans who are unable to attend the match can stream the action live on DAZN.
