Gareth Taylor preview

"We just look at the opponent, see where they're strong and areas we can potentially exploit.

"For us, nothing changes on what’s happened to them previously.

"Every competition we go in, we're really serious about.

"We’re the holders, we’ve drawn an interesting fixture but you have to play and beat the so-called best to get to finals and then in the final.

"It’s a game we’re looking forward to."

Tournament format

If the two teams can't be separated in normal time, then an additional 30 minutes will be played at Meadow Park.

Should the scores still remain level, then a penalty shootout will take place to decide who will progress to March's final at Selhurst Park.

Last time out

Second half goals from Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw and Chloe Kelly earned City a 2-0 Barclays Women's Super League win away to Leicester on Saturday.

City were full value for the victory, but had to wait until the hour mark to take the lead when WSL top scorer Shaw headed home Laura Coombs' s cross from the right.

And Kelly would double our advantage soon after with her second goal in as many matches, cutting in from the right before firing into the far corner to wrap up the points.

Arsenal, meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw at West Ham United in their most recent WSL fixture.

Previous meeting

City and Arsenal are yet to face each other this season, with September's planned WSL opener postponed following the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II.

The rescheduled tie takes place this weekend in front of a sell-out Academy Stadium crowd, meaning our last meeting was a 1-1 draw in January 2022.

On that occasion, a last gasp equaliser from Tobin Heath denied City all three points in an exciting WSL clash, cancelling out Shaw's close-range strike.

Form Guide

City come into our latest clash in impressive form, having gone 16 matches in all competitions without defeat.

Gareth Taylor's side have claimed victory in 14 of those encounters, conceding just five times in the process.

We are now level on points with Arsenal in the WSL table, but remain fourth due to the Gunners' superior goal difference.

Our opponents, meanwhile, have lost just once in their past 10 in all competitions, winning six and drawing four.
