Arsenal under-18 midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed to a new two-year deal with the club, reports The Athletic.
The existing registration of the 16-year-old is set to expire this summer.
Lewis-Skelly’s performances have generated interest from plenty of suitors with his schoolboy terms set to expire.
The teenage sensation joined the Gunners eight years ago and has progressed through their youth ranks.
Arsenal’s under-18s are in the FA Youth Cup semi-finals, and Lewis-Skelly has been integral to their run.
Jack Wilshere’s side will take on Manchester City or Oxford United, and scouts will be watching the England youth international.
Lewis-Skelly’s progress has caught the eyes of manager Mikel Arteta too. The youngster played against Lyon in a friendly during the World Cup break.
He is yet to make his official first-team debut but he is getting very close.
Arsenal are always keen to retain their brightest youth talents, with academy graduate Bukayo Saka now their most important player.
They will hope Lewis-Skelly can follow in the footsteps of the England international and Emile Smith Rowe.
He turns 17 in September and will be eligible to sign a professional contract, which comes with better terms and clauses.
The Gunners will be working towards convincing Lewis-Skelly to commit his long-term future to the club.
More clubs will watch him at the European under-17 Championship this summer, and he will be keen to impress.
The Premier League leaders cannot afford to lose a player capable of saving them millions of pounds given his huge potential.
