David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Arsenal have recently turned down an approach from Ajax over an initial loan move for Aaron Ramsdale.
Whatever the exact terms proposed, Ornstein writes that the offer didn’t suit Arsenal, yet Ajax are still interested and remain optimistic.
Arsenal reportedly want to sell Ramsdale this summer, and his focus is to play regular football.

Ramsdale has been linked with some Premier League clubs so far this summer, but none of them seem to have made a concrete move.
Alex Crook reported for talkSPORT in early August that the goalkeeper is high on the shortlists of Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Southampton.
Yet the general suggestion in the cases of those three clubs is that they’re hoping to secure a loan move, perhaps waiting until the end of the window to put pressure on Arsenal to agree to those terms.

In the meantime, Mikel Arteta has made clear his goalkeeper choice for the new season, starting David Raya in both friendlies since his return whilst Ramsdale has been on the bench each time.
