Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has been impressed with Aaron Ramsdale's start to his Arsenal career.

Eyebrows were raised when the Gunners completed a £24m deal from Sheffield United following the goalkeeper's consecutive relegations with Bournemouth and then the Blades.

Ramsdale, though, was named player of the season in each of those campaigns and is still unbeaten in his first seven appearances in all competitions for the north London giants.

What do the stats say about Ramsdale?

The England shotstopper could hardly have enjoyed a better start to life at the Emirates and has played a huge part in Arsenal's impressive recent revival.

Including Friday's victory over Aston Villa, Mikel Arteta's men have won 14 points from a possible 18 since he came into the side in place of Bernd Leno last month.

According to WhoScored, Ramsdale has been Arsenal's sixth-best player with an average rating 6.80, although he's not too far behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who tops the charts.

But it's not just some of the spectacular saves that's making him a popular figure with the Arsenal faithful. Furthermore, the 23-year-old has shown his ability with his feet and has completed 61.6 percent of his attempted passes, which is a very decent return for a goalkeeper.

With Ramsdale's addition culminating in Arsenal's upturn in fortunes, Bridge has been surprised with what he's seen from the Three Lions keeper.

What did Bridge say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think Arsenal have made a good signing in Ramsdale. They got mocked for that, but I think he's had a good start to his Arsenal career."

Is Ramsdale better than Leno?

The German international has been a good servant for the best part of three seasons, but mistakes started to creep into his game, and it was probably the right time for change.

Can you name this obscure player?

It's harsh to pin the three consecutive defeats at the start of the season on Leno, as Arsenal were dreadful in each of those games, but he didn't cover himself in glory for Brentford's second nor a couple of Manchester City's goals in the 5-0 thumping.

And whilst Arsenal are yet to come up against opposition in the same calibre of City or Chelsea, Arteta's decision to swap Ramsdale for Leno has more than paid off.
