Arsenal and Juventus are expected to continue negotiations for the loan of Arthur Melo between Monday and Tuesday, but little has changed.

Goal’s Romeo Agresti reports that there will be new contact on the subject of Arthur Melo to Arsenal betwen Monday and Tuesday. Juventus’ position is still the same as before, in that they don’t want to let the player go without a replacement.

Multiple reports previously suggested Arsenal were edging closer to signing Arthur from Juventus on loan.

Charles Watts reported that Arsenal were hoping talks with Juventus on Friday would help to move the loan forward, with the player pushing for it.

Arthur reportedly sees the Premier League as the best in the world and want the move done quickly, but he and Arsenal are still waiting on Juventus’ approval.

The Evening Standard reported that Arsenal have indicated they would be willing to cover Arthur’s wages in full, with a straight loan appearing the most likely option.

Fabrizio Romano reiterated this claim, stating that there’s no obligation to buy clause included in the current negotiations. But Juventus are unwilling to accept until they find a replacement.

Arthur would have arrived too late for the North London derby either way, given he had to be registered on Friday. But he may now have a chance to feature against Liverpool, if Arsenal can push the deal through quickly.
