Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined a growing list of clubs who are interested in signing Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus.

Ajax got themselves a bargain two years ago as it only cost them €9m to sign Kudus from Danish side Nordsjaelland.

The 22-year-old was a bit-part player for Ajax in his first two seasons in the Eredivisie but he has performed well this term when given the opportunity.

The forward has scored ten goals in his 22 appearances but he has only started five times in the league.

Most of his success came in the Champions League group stages even with Ajax finishing third in their group behind Liverpool and Napoli. Kudus provided four goals and two assists for his side.

The Ghana international is now shining for his county at the World Cup. He netted a brace in their vital 3-2 victory over South Korea earlier this week.

Kudus could have joined Everton in the summer as he recently revealed that a move was “really close”.

“I was really close to joining Everton. I thought it was a good project for me and I felt I should try it.

“It wasn’t like this season was my first (at Ajax), it was my third. So if I’m not getting the progress I’m looking for, then why not try something else?

He added: “I spoke to Lampard. I had a chat with him to find out the project they had for me, what he thought about me and how he saw me as a player, because definitely that would be the green light for me to decide whether I wanted to move. Without the coach, there is nothing.”

Given his recent exploits, Everton may struggle to sign Kudus, but 90min confirm that the Premier League side ‘retain their interest’ in the youngster.

He is ‘one of the stars of the World Cup’ and his form has ‘caught the attention of a host of Premier League clubs’.

The report notes that Everton would have paid £15m for Kudus had they secured his services in the summer.

But Ajax recognise that his value has now risen and his contract with the Dutch side is now due to expire until 2025.

Ajax are ‘in no hurry’ to sell Kudus but an offer of £30m ‘would be hard to turn down’ with him ‘not an automatic first-choice’ in their team.

Along with Everton, it is claimed that Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United ‘have all asked about the player’s current situation’.

They are not alone though as 90min’s
