With Ansu Fati struggling to gain a foothold in the Barcelona setup under Xavi Hernandez this season, questions are starting to rise over his long-term future at the club.

One of the most highly-rated young attackers, Fati came through the Barça youth ranks and made quite the splash. But injuries have hampered the 20-year-old’s development at Camp Nou to a great extent.

While the quality is still there, Fati has looked short of confidence and has found regular game-time hard to come by this season.

Of his 30 appearances across all competitions this season, Fati has started only nine games, with Xavi preferring Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha ahead of him.

Recent reports had suggested that Manchester United are weighing up a summer move for the Spanish international if Barcelona would open the doors for an exit in the summer.

Now, though, Mundo Deportivo is claiming that several other top clubs from across Europe are showing an interest in Ansu Fati heading into the summer.

Indeed, as per the report, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among four Premier League clubs interested in the Barcelona forward.

Along with them, Bayern Munich are also said to be keen on the 20-year-old, with the report stating that the German champions hold the strongest interest in signing Ansu from Barcelona.

There has been no offer made from the Bavarian giants or any other club interested in the La Masia graduate. But interest seems to be rising in Fati’s services as his involvement in Barça colours continues to be limited.

Xavi, though, insists that he has full confidence in the 20-year-old and has called for patience with him.

“Things will work out for him, we have to be patient, he is a spectacular asset for the club, we trust him a lot, he is working very well, he has a tremendous mentality in training, but we need to be patient,” Xavi said in his press conference ahead of the Sevilla clash.

“He is 20 years old and needs time, like everyone else. This is not the time to talk about sales,” he added.

Fati signed a new contract with Barcelona in 2021, prolonging his stay at the club until 2027. The new deal also came with a mammoth €1 billion release clause. So, despite the interest in him, it seems unfathomable that Barça would consider selling their No. 10.
