Arsenal to take on FC Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium | OneFootball

Arsenal have announced the news that their penultimate UEFA Women’s Champions League group match against FC Barcelona will be staged at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are set to face the Spanish giants in North London on Thursday 9 December with the game kicking-off at 8pm. Jonas Eidevall’s side may need to get something from that game to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Arsenal announced the switch of venue from Meadow Park to their traditional Emirates Stadium home earlier today. Tickets are now on general sale priced at £12 adults and £6 for all other categories.

The North Londoners lost the reverse fixture 4-1 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff last week. Mariona Caldentey, Alexia Putellas, Asisat Oshoala and Lieke Martens got the goals for the Catalan club while Frida Maanum netted for Arsenal. The Gunners quickly bounced back as they defeated German club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 4-0 in their second group match at Meadow Park last night.

Arsenal next play back-to-back fixtures against group minnows HB Køge. Should Eidevall’s side collect maximum points from those games, it seems likely that a positive result against Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium will be enough to secure qualification.
