Arsenal have confirmed that ‘at least’ six women’s team matches will be played at the Emirates Stadium during the 2022/23 campaign, a 33% rise on the four games held there this season.

The Gunners typically play at Meadow Park in Borehamwood, but have increasingly been at home at the much larger Emirates in the heart of the club’s north London identity.

Three of the club’s 11 WSL home games will be played at the 60,000-capacity venue, as well as all three Champions League group games. The likelihood would be that should Arsenal progress further in Europe, any knockout games would also be hosted at the Emirates as well.

This season, Arsenal played WSL derbies against Chelsea and Tottenham at the Emirates in front of 8,700 and 13,400 fans respectively. In Europe, more than 12,000 watched the Champions League group clash against Barcelona, with another 5,000 in against Wolfsburg in the quarter-final first leg.

All of football saw Barcelona pack out Camp Nou this season for back-to-back Champions League knockout games against Real Madrid and Wolfsburg, which has raised the bar across Europe.

“It’s wonderful news that we will be returning to Emirates Stadium for more games next year and we can’t wait to see our fans there and at Meadow Park very soon,” manager Jonas Eidevall told the club’s official website in response to the announcement.

“The backing we received both at Meadow Park and Emirates Stadium [across 2021/22] was unbelievable. Whether you sit in the stands or are playing in the match, we are all part of one team – one family. That’s what makes this club so special.”

Arsenal Women season tickets for 2022/23 will include access to all three WSL games at the Emirates. Men’s season ticket holders will also have the opportunity to purchase a ‘bolt on’ for entry into all six women’s games at the stadium.
