Roque has grabbed 11 goals and three assists in his 42 senior outings for Brazilian outfit Athletico Paranaense.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte have now published a detailed update on how teams are faring in the race to sign Roque.

Roque and his representatives have been ‘in Europe and visited several clubs, with the last stop being Barcelona’.

The youngster is considered to be ‘one of the jewels of Brazilian football’ and he is ‘under the eyes of the European giants’.

It is noted that Roque was ‘invited’ to Barcelona to ‘visit the Spanish club’s facilities’ and to ‘meet with leaders to learn about the project’.

Before this trip, Roque’s team had a ‘stop in England’. Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Tottenham and West Ham are said to be the seven Premier League teams interested in him.

Roque is yet to receive an ‘official proposal’ from any team. But the report claims ‘two teams from England and Barcelona have already promised to submit official proposals to try to get the boy out of Athletico’.

The two English teams are not revealed, but it is fair to assume Arsenal are one of them as they have constantly linked with Roque of late.

The report adds: ‘Athletico and the player’s staff are looking for the striker’s negotiation to be one of the biggest in Brazilian football abroad – that is, the idea is not to release him for less than 42 million euros.’

Arsenal already have one of the best young teams in Europe as the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba have been in stunning form this season.

The Gunners are on track to win the Premier League this season but they will have to strengthen this summer if they want to maintain their position around the top of the table.
