Arsenal pulled off an incredible first-leg result against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night, winning 3-0 to take a strong lead to the Bernabeu next week.
There were plenty of ecstatic Arsenal fans in the stands, but St. Johnstone player Callan Hamill was also in attendance.
16-year-old centre-back Hamill is set to join Arsenal this summer, with the two clubs having already agreed a six-figure transfer fee. The deal includes realistic add-ons and sell-ons likely to further increase that figure.
For the time being, the transfer still hasn’t been made official, but Hamill shared a picture from the stands at the midweek fixture.

Rangers, Celtic, and a number of Premier League clubs fought to sign Hamill last summer, but St. Johnstone managed to hold onto the Scotland u17 international at the time.
Arsenal then went on a charm offensive, and Hamill is reportedly set to sign a four-year deal with the club. He’s already played a few games for the Gunners on various trials, including winning the Flamengo Adidas Cup with the u17s in Brazil.
Despite losing one of their talented youngsters, St. Johnstone are reportedly impressed by the way Arsenal operated throughout this process.

Hamill wasn’t the only player with an Arsenal connection in the stands.
Former Arsenal academy players Remy Mitchell, Arthur Okonkwo, and Tyreece John-Jules were all watching on with the supporters at the ground, along with current Arsenal youth prospects like Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand, Andre Harriman-Annous, Khari Ranson, and Seb Ferdinand.
With the way the game panned out, you’d hope they all enjoyed their nights.
