Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would be able to get the best out of Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony if he is a player the Spaniard is ‘willing to pursue’, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has informed GIVEMESPORT.

The 23-year-old has unexpectedly popped up on the transfer radar at the Emirates Stadium out of the blue due to some impressive performances at the Vitality Stadium this season.

Lately, the Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal are keen on Bournemouth winger Anthony this window as Gunners boss Arteta looks to add more options on the flanks to his squad.

Talks over a new deal for the winger on the South Coast have stalled, meaning he could be available to leave his current employers on a free transfer at the end of the season due to his present contract being set to expire in the summer.

Anthony spent ten years in Arsenal’s youth academy between 2006 and 2016 and is seen as someone who could add long-term value to his former club whilst also being a financially viable target.

Leicester City, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen, in addition, are all monitoring his situation as they seek to land further attacking assets to bolster their respective squads.

What has Ryan Taylor said about Jaidon Anthony?

Daily Express journalist Taylor believes that it wouldn’t be surprising to see Anthony shine at Arsenal if any deal was to come to light due to the job Gunners boss Arteta has done with developing young players in the past.

Taylor told GMS: “As we’ve seen with Arteta, what he’s done with these young players, you wouldn’t be surprised if he got something out of Anthony if it was a deal they were willing to pursue. I’m interested to keep an eye on that, but I don’t know anything unfortunately.”

Would Anthony be a good bit of business at the Emirates?

Capable of operating on both flanks, Anthony is a versatile player that would add even more depth to a talented Arsenal squad, either for a bargain fee in January or for free in the summer.

In 2022/23, the Cherries winger has made 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times in the process, as per Transfermarkt.

Being able to carry the ball is one of his main strengths, with FootyStats showing that Anthony has managed to complete 21 dribbles this season in the Premier League, emphasizing his ability to beat his marker and advance into dangerous offensive situations.

On paper, this would be a low-risk signing. The 23-year-old knows the club well, having spent a portion of his youth career at London Colney. Furthermore, Anthony now has experience playing in the English top flight and looks to be growing in stature with each coming match.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if Arteta does sanction a return to the Emirates for the Bournemouth ace, whether it be now or at the end of this term.
