Arsenal youth striker Nikolaj Moller has extended his loan spell with FC Den Bosch, returning to the club for another season.

Arsenal and FC Den Bosch announced the loan transfer of Nikolaj Moller on Thursday night, with Moller rejoining the Dutch second-division side after spending the final few months of 2021/22 playing for them.

Moller had begun last season with FC Viktoria Koln, but he was recalled and reloaned for the second half of the last campaign, joining Den Bosch in January.

Scoring a couple of goals and providing an assist in his 11 appearances, Moller helped Den Bosch climb from 14th to 11th in the final months of the campaign.

But a couple of injury problems disrupted the striker’s brief spell in the Netherlands, keeping him from having more of an impact.

As Daily Cannon exclusively reported in April, Moller picked up a foot injury in Den Bosch’s match against FC Volendam and missed the final two weeks of the season.

The hope now is the 19-year-old will be able to push on, and that by staying put he’ll find some regularity and consistency with his loan club.

Speaking to the Den Bosch website, technical manager Jan Gosgens gave his thoughts on the move.

“Nikolaj has shown that he has a lot of potential,” Gosgens said.

“Last season he showed beautiful things at times. Because he has been able to get used to it for six months, I expect more from him now.

“I am very happy that we were able to keep Nikolaj with us for longer.”
