Arsenal Strike-target expected to delay exit until the summer
Just Arsenal News
Dusan Vlahovic wants to see out the current season with Fiorentina, despite strong links to the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus.
The Serbian striker has been a hot topic in the press of late, having attracted strong interest from a number of clubs with his consistent displays in attack for La Viola, and with his contract situation having become public.
Fiorentina were keen to tie him down to a new deal, but it has seemingly become known that he is unwilling to extend his terms, and is now expected to leave the club before his contract expires in the summer of 2023.
While many sources are linking him with a move in the upcoming winter window, Firenze Viola insists that he has no interest in leaving before the season is over.
The above is backed up by the player’s recent comments about firing his side back into Europe, as quoted by Football Italia.
Vlahovic would likely have been a great addition to our squad in the coming window, with our attack struggling with consistency over the past year or two. Our chances of snapping him up do appear to be slim at present however, but with him set to wait out the season before leaving, we could well gain some traction in our attempts to land him if we could finish inside the top four.
He seems happy with Fiorentina, but you can only assume that he has trophies and the Champions League in his mind, and I do wonder if earning entry to the CL could make us an attractive prospect.
Do you believe he would join a club not playing in the elite club competition?
