According to Globo Esporte, it is now revealed that the 25-year-old complained about pain on his right knee following yesterday’s defeat.

Examinations over the same were conducted on Friday morning and Jesus has now been ruled out of the ongoing World Cup finals.

While the injury is not serious, Jesus is expected to be sidelined for around a month and may only return to action at the turn of the year.

Big blow for the Gunners

Jesus has struggled to find the back of the net regularly for the Gunners, but he has been a key player for them with his excellent all-round attributes.

The Brazilian has displayed a superb work-rate and has also caught the eye with his hold-up and link-up play. He has also made key defensive contributions.

The €75 million-rated star perfectly compliments the club’s forwards with his playing style and his unavailability should be a big blow for the season restart.

The good news is that the injury is not serious. Jesus may only miss the games against West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion before the New Year.

Eddie Nketiah, who stepped up for Arsenal in the final weeks of last season, should have another chance to redeem himself in the injury absence of Jesus.
