A disappointing Premier League season could lead to a lot of change at Arsenal this summer.

“There are so many things to do because we already have a lot of players on loan and a lot of players with contracts still that we need to sort,” Mikel Arteta told reporters on Tuesday when asked about the upcoming transfer window.

“It will depend what happens with a lot of those players and what we are able to recruit to improve the team, that is going to determine where we are.”

And some of those big name players with expiring contracts could leave north London.

According to the Athletic, Arsenal staff expect a number of established regulars to look for a move away from the club this summer.

One is David Luiz, whose existing contract expires at the end of the season.

The report also says Héctor Bellerín, Bernd Leno and Granit Xhaka (contracts until 2022) have all given staff the impression they would like to leave, as has Willian, who joined from Chelsea on a free last summer.

All five have played regularly this season and losing them all would leave Arsenal with no choice but to kickstart a big rebuild.
