Frida Maanum helped herself to a hat-trick, there were braces for Caitlin Foord and Stina Blackstenius while Kim Little and Mana Iwabuchi were also on target as The Gunners won the group with real class against a poor FC Zürich outfit.
Maanum opened the scoring for Arsenal after 18 minutes when she expertly found the back of the net with a delicious free-kick. Foord then swept home goal number two from close range before Maanum again provided danger from a free-kick, her effort this time striking the bar.
It was Maanum who soon slotted away Arsenal’s third goal before Blackstenius’ tap-in gave the North Londoners a 4-0 lead going into half-time.
Maanum completed her hat-trick early in the second half when she smashed the ball home from 20 yards before Blackstenius curled in a sixth Arsenal goal just minutes later from a similar distance.
The hosts were awarded a penalty kick just after the hour mark when Leah Williamson stumbled into Seraina Piubel and Fabienne Humm converted from the spot.
Foord then capitalised on some woeful FC Zürich play to score Arsenal’s seventh goal before Kim Little converted from the penalty spot after Oliwia Wos had handled the ball in the box.
A fantastic night for Arsenal was capped-off with a goal from substitute Iwabuchi seven minutes from time.
Arsenal will now go into the quarter-final draw as one of the four group winners meaning that they will be handed a more favourable opponent in the next round.
