Alessia Russo netted the only goal of the game in the first half as Arsenal came out on top at Marvel Stadium.
Arsenal enjoyed lots of possession in the early stages of the game but chances were at an absolute premium. Almost half an hour went by before a meaningful shot on goal was registered, A-League All Stars midfielder Tameka Yallop shooting high and wide from distance.
The first half did produce one quality moment in the box and it was Arsenal who took full advantage. Vivienne Lia crossed the ball for Russo to expertly head home.
A-League All Stars tried to respond in the dying minutes of the first half but a tame Yallop shot was all that they had to show for their efforts.
Arsenal looked like the side more likely to score early in the second half. Caitlin Foord got a sight of goal but she could only fire straight at home keeper Jada Whyman. At the other end, Rhianna Pollicina took aim from distance but her effort failed to trouble Arsenal substitute Naomi Williams.
The A-League All Stars had a golden opportunity to get back into the game late on when Hannah Wilkinson was put through on goal but Williams produced an excellent save as the contest ended 1-0 in Arsenal’s favour.
Arsenal now go into the close season with many of their players set to link-up with their respective national teams over the summer.
