Arsenal have recalled yet another player from loan with Tyreece John-Jules being called back.

Just a few days ago, it was reported that Arsenal would delay a decision on Tyreece John-Jules, who has not played since mid-October.

It seems events of the last few days have changed that situation. Blackpool have dipped back into the market to sign Jake Beesley from Rochdale, pushing John-Jules further down the pecking order.

Even before Beesley’s arrival, John-Jules was already struggling for any involvement with Blackpool. He’d only made one appearance in a matchday squad from mid-October until this week.

A statement from Arsenal said, “Tyreece John-Jules has returned from his loan with Championship side Blackpool.

“The 20-year-old forward, who has progressed through our academy system after starting training with us as an eight-year-old, made 12 appearances for Blackpool since joining on loan at the start of the season.

“The England Youth international, who has also spent loan spells with Doncaster Rovers and Lincoln City in recent seasons, has been a prolific goalscorer for our Under-18s and Under-23s and also scored for the first team in a friendly against Al-Nasr Dubai SC during our mid-season visit in March 2019.”

“Tyreece has trained regularly with the first team and has been a member of the matchday squad in the Premier League, FA Cup and also the 2020 FA Community Shield victory over Liverpool.”

Blackpool, meanwhile, issued a short statement of their own that said, “Blackpool Football Club can confirm that Arsenal have recalled Tyreece John-Jules from his loan spell with the Seasiders.

“The forward departs Bloomfield Road having made 12 appearances in tangerine this season.

“The Club would like to thank Tyreece for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”

Ideally, Arsenal could find a better loan for John-Jules, but even just training with the squad and not playing would be an improvement on training with Blackpool and not playing.

The youngster could at least get some minutes on the pitch with the Arsenal u23s, but you’d hope there’d be some outside interest in him this month.

Arsenal have also recalled Miguel Azeez from Portsmouth, while they also recalled Dejan Iliev, only to cancel the players contract after nine years at the club.
