Viktor Gyökeres is drawing attention from several top European clubs as 2025 approaches, with reports suggesting Sporting Lisbon might be open to selling their star striker. With plenty of interest in the Swedish forward, could Paris Saint-Germain turn their focus elsewhere for a new No. 9?

According to Foot Mercato, PSG’s sporting advisor Luís Campos has shown interest in Gyökeres and has already begun talks with the player’s representatives. However, discussions with coach Luis Enrique have reportedly revealed some hesitation about the fit.

This uncertainty could push PSG to explore other options for the striker position that better align with Enrique’s plans.

One alternative gaining traction is Newcastle United standout Alexander Isak, who is under contract until 2028. PSG Inside Actus recently reported that the French club are considering a serious bid for Isak during the next summer transfer window if signing Gyökeres doesn’t materialize.

Moreover, PSG Inside Actus claimed that Isak is interested in joining PSG, but he won’t move until the summer transfer window.

Could Alexander Isak be on the move?

Swedish international Alexander Isak delivered a stunning hat-trick against Ipswich on Saturday, bringing his Premier League total to 10 goals in 15 appearances.

According to journalist David Ornstein, Newcastle are eager to secure a contract extension for the in-form forward, but their efforts have yet to yield any progress.

“I think we should cast our gaze onto Alexander Isak,” Ornstein said on The Athletic FC podcast. “We have seen how unbelievably good he is when he’s fit and in a rhythm.

“There doesn’t appear to be any progress on a new contract. Newcastle have him for several more years, and that perhaps opens the opportunity for clubs to make a push.

“He’s somebody that clubs have looked very closely at in the past. Arsenal, for example, looked to sign him when he was at Real Sociedad, they didn’t end up doing it and he went to Newcastle.”

Last month, CaughtOffside revealed that both Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping an eye on Isak. However, neither club is willing to match Newcastle’s £115 million price tag for the star striker.
