Arsenal are setting the stage for an exciting pre-season with an impressive line-up of fixtures. As part of their preparations for the new campaign, Mikel Arteta’s side are scheduled to face formidable opponents, including Barcelona, in late July.

Arsenal have officially confirmed that the men’s first team will take on Barcelona in Los Angeles this summer on Wednesday, July 26th.

The game will be hosted at SoFi Stadium, home of the LA Rams – who are owned by Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke.

The fixture is part of the Soccer Champions Tour, an exhibition series featuring six clubs competing in nine matches over 12 days in the States.

Arsenal sporting director Edu said: “Our match against Barcelona in Los Angeles is another great opportunity for Mikel and our men’s first-team squad to prepare for the exciting new season.

“We’re very proud to be playing at the fantastic SoFi Stadium, the home of the LA Rams, in what will be such a special occasion for everyone at our club.

“This is another high-quality match in our visit to the United States in July and we’re so looking forward to meeting our many supporters in Los Angeles.”

This is Arsenal’s third officially confirmed fixture, following the previous announcements of matches against an MLS All-Stars team and Manchester United. All three games will take place in the United States.

We’ve also heard rumours of a fourth fixture in Germany, with Arsenal fixture insider Arsenal Fixture News confirming the first team will be heading to the country for a training camp again this summer, before playing 1. FC Nürnberg in a friendly.

That leg of the tour is scheduled to take place prior to the trip to the USA.

The pre-season schedule will likely be rounded out by one or two friendlies in the UK, but Arsenal may have to hold fire on finalising those plans.

If the Gunners win the Premier League or, probably more likely, Manchester City win the FA Cup and Arsenal finish 2nd, Arteta’s side will be involved in the Community Shield. If not, that weekend will be free for another event.
